Hehe, thank you! I kind of just got the idea in my head (I think after writing two other FFIII fics as prompts earlier or something...not quite sure how!), and eventually managed to write it down. I'm glad I got it typed up before the game ended, I was a little worried I wouldn't have it done before then because of everything going on. Haha, imagination makes the world go round! XD And I'm glad I managed to get Desch's character down pretty well too, he had some amusing dialogue lines in the beginning.

Yeah, I kind of wondered that too when I played the game myself. I think by the ending of FFIII it seemed like he did care about her since he came back to her of his own volition (and even got embarrassed when Refia makes a big deal of it)--but I had to check a few scenes on YouTube just to make sure before I started on the fic. I even saw the scene where he apologizes to her and her mother and promises them he'd come back later too then (I'd truthfully forgotten that happened if you visited the house with him as a guest party member)...so I guess it was that he cared about her, but just didn't vocalize it too much because of his personality being more carefree or something? Or because of how the story was presented sometimes in the game, maybe? XD After I saw those scenes again, I kind of felt confident enough to start work on the story. I've actually kind of always been interested in writing a Desch-related fic, but I had no idea what direction to go with it before now. I'm glad you liked that I fleshed out their story more--thank you very much for your thoughts on it! ♥ :)
