Fantastic! This was exactly the kind of fic I requested, and I absolutely love the way you can convey so much emotion and heartache with so few words. I adored the part you added about Cecil's trial (and it was a fantastic opener for the fic). Simple desperation led to such a drastic change... The scene with Cecil trying to talk to Kain was absolutely gutwrenchingly human.

Needless to say, I absolutely loved this fic, and the timing (birthday) was also awesome! Myst, you are truly talented and I really hope to see this Kain!fic of yours eventuate!
