Some not-for-points fanworks
Just cross-posting two older fanworks here, neither of which count for points: first, some art I did for ff_exchange while I was still a neutral mod and second is my zodiac icon set for the contest at ultima_arena.

Description: Dancer!Faris & Thief!Bartz steal a precious thingy. There's no story, they just do! [NOT FOR POINTS]
Rating/warnings: G; n/a
Artist notes that I should probably edit my AO3 version to include (maybe when I'm less lazy):
- Based on the party's original sprite looks because I just like 'em better. And I realize that Faris's outfit isn't actually accurate to her FFV outfit, which is more disco. I based her outfit instead on the mental image I get from her sprite:
- I like how the quality goes down each panel... Totally not at all because I was rushing to get this finished before the deadline. Nope, definitely not.
- Related, there was originally going to be an additional step between Step 2 and Step 3 that was "The Alarm" which would have had two soldiers spot Bartz, all "!"-style, and one of them bursting into the throne room where Faris was, but that panel would have required the most work for the least amount of story information gain, so I cut it.
- That first Faris has an unfortunate and accidental resemblance to Leela from Futurama... orz

Status effects/status-affecting spells zodiac set:
Rationales:
- Aries: Berserk (VI). Obvious choice -- warlike, associated with red... Aries is a sign with a lot of initiative, leaping before looking. People with Berserk status are the same way.
- Taurus: Stone/Break/Petrify (III). As a fixed earth sign, Taurus is the most stonelike in nature. Their slow-and-steady work ethic seems fitting for the gradual version of this status.
- Gemini: Blink (or Haste) (I). Gemini is a sign with lots of energy, doing so many things that they seem like two people. Blink felt appropriate here (Haste too).
- Cancer: Shell (or Protect) (XIV). Cancers are very protective and solicitous, which seems suiting for these two spells (in fact White Mages in general are very Cancer-y). Went with shell, though, because crabs.
- Leo: Paralyze (V). Because lions roar, and Roar often causes this status effect. Leos have a commanding presence that could freeze people in place.
- Virgo: Esuna (or Dispel/normal status) (XII). A little "odd one out" in that it's the removal of status effects, but I couldn't resist since Virgos are seen as the hypochondriac type -- they'd be the most bothered by impurities such as abnormal status...
- Libra: Entice/Charm (VII). Libras, of course, are charming people ruled by Venus so this status effect seemed suiting.
- Scorpio: Bio/Poison (TA). This one was hard. Ended up giving them poison because it seemed appropriate for a sign associated with scorpions. Scorpios are fixed water signs, which seems suiting to a watery(?) status effect that lingers after battle.
- Sagittarius: Cheer (X). Sagittariuses are optimistic and happy-go-lucky, so they seemed like people who'd be able to improve the morale of their teammates. Also considered Critical, but couldn't find any good images.
- Capricorn: Doom (IV). On the opposite end of the spectrum, Capricorns are pessimistic and I've seen them described as fatalistic. So I felt Doom worked best, especially since Capricorns are also signs of ambition and delayed payoffs, which I feel are suiting to the Doom status.
- Aquarius: Confuse (II). Because Aquariuses are very eccentric and their thought process can be confusing to others. And they're also a very intellectual/thought-driven sign, which makes a status that alters thought appropriate.
- Pisces: Sleep (D). Finally, Sleep for Pisces because they're often described as dreamy with laziness as a major weakness. Seems like someone who'd be happy to lie in bed all day sleeping.
Maybe one day I'll actually post something here worth points!
