Class: Black Mage
Title: Hunger
Summary: Quina is weird.
Characters/Pairings: Quina
Word count: 100
Rating/warnings: None

Quina is hungry. Quina is always hungry. They wonder if this is just a Qu thing, at first, but Vivi says no, his grandfather was not like that.

Then again, perhaps Vivi’s grandfather was the exception.

“This rock delicious!” Quina announces, somewhere behind them, causing Garnet to jump. “This land has very yummy soil too!” A pause. A croak from somewhere in the grass. “Frog!” Quina exclaims. “Yummy frog! I eat!”

The frog hops past them, croaking frantically, with Quina lumbering after it in hot pursuit.

The rest exchange puzzled looks, and shrug. Everyone has his or her own idiosyncrasies.

Title: Silver
Summary: Eiko wonders if Kuja dyes his hair.
Characters/Pairings: Eiko, Zidane, Amarant, Garnet, Freya
Word count: 100
Rating/warnings: None

“Do you think Kuja dyes his hair?”

Everyone stares. Their group is rather eclectic and thus has had some fairly strange conversations -(“Vivi and Quina did what?” “Got married.”) – but nobody’s yet speculated on Kuja’s hair.

“It’s silver!” Eiko explains, sagely. “Like metal. I haven’t seen anyone with silver hair who isn’t old!”

“Bet you ten gil it’s natural,” says Zidane.

Garnet thinks back to all the really odd fashions in court. “I think it’s dyed.”

“Any other bets?”

Freya agrees with Garnet; Amarant with Zidane. Nobody lets Eiko bet. (“You’re too young.”)

Eiko sulks about this all day.

Title: Wind
Summary: Darrill's final flight.
Characters/Pairings: Setzer/Darrill
Word count: 100
Rating/warnings: None

Darrill is tough and beautiful and entirely fearless. She’s dared things he wouldn’t. She’s weathered everything.

This new airship of hers is supposed to be able to withstand winds her old ship couldn’t. “Only one way to test it,” she says. He shakes his head, challenges her to a race; anything to stop this insane flight. He has a sick feeling about it, like he’s going to lose her to the wind.

He loses. He has to let her go.

“Be back before sunset!” he yells after her; she waves, hair blowing in the wind.

He never sees her again.

Title: Curse
Summary: The aftermath of the Empire's attack on Maranda.
Characters/Pairings: Lola
Word count: 100
Rating/warnings: None

The Empire leaves Maranda in ruins, taking only the men as fresh conscripts.

One of them is Lola’s boyfriend.

The town itself is in a near-complete state of devastation; the buildings are still in smoking ruins. Half the townsfolk are dead.

One of those buildings is Lola’s home.

She knows there will be no help coming, because nobody will dare to help a town that so displeased the Empire. Maranda is on its own.

Lola mutters imprecations under her breath, cursing the Empire, cursing Emperor Gestahl, cursing General Celes and General Kefka and everything that took her life from her.

Title: Writer's Block
Summary: Lord Avon tries to write I Want To Be Your Canary.
Characters/Pairings: Lord Avon
Word count: 100
Rating/warnings: None

"MARCUS: Stay, Cornelia! Wait but a while –
CORNELIA: For what purpose would you have me stay?
MARCUS: Why, for the exchange of thy love’s faithful vows -"

He scratches those words out. Too cliché, he notes. Lines don’t scan.

Not that anyone would notice if one or two of the lines were off. He’s not trying to write great literature, just a crowd-pleaser. People like romances, especially if they have dashing rogues wooing delicate princesses.

But there is still such a thing as artistic integrity; the play must be perfect.

He sighs, and goes back to writing.

Damn writer’s block.

I loved reading your FFIX drabbles...they were very memorable and fitting to the game's sense of humor (the Bard one in particular was just awesome hasn't everyone felt that way about writer's block? XD, but they were all really well-done). And your FFVI ones were, amazing. They were both really emotional and incredibly written, and it just furthers my resolve to have FFVI be the next main installment FF game I play! :D
