Oh Captain. The look you gave cut me deeper than any other wound. Accusing, but understanding. You never really did though. Never really understood the longing to take you for my own. Never really understood what that deep chuckle and darkened expressions from across the training circle did to me.

Pulse was a strange land that did strange things to him. It made him want to forget about Caccoon and all of it's problems. It made him want to stay and compete with the land. It made him want to start anew despite his mark and his oaths. It made him want to take the people he cared about and just start a life here in this untamed land where Fang and Vanille would show them how to survive.
He wanted to hunt forever with Fang, fighting side-by-side and back-to-back, fighting impossible creatures. The two of them would take care of their little camp, being the bread winners, while Lightning protected the camp itself. The two would travel large expanses, getting as much food as possible before winter set in. It would take weeks.
They would camp where they could watch the stars, backs to a large rock or cliff. Their conversations at night would be both deep and light of heart, her blue eyes piercing his through the campfire causing his breath to quicken and she would just smirk. He would play too, a grin here-
