Title:
Summary: Cecil's side of Waves of Conflict. Poor guy will never understand why everyone's so obsessed with his hair.
Characters/Pairings: Rosa, Cecil, Kain, Fusoya, Golbez, Tidus, Firion. But the star of the show is obviously Cecil's hair.
Word count: 383
Rating/warnings: Crack?
i.
Rosa said I should let my hair grow out; she thinks it would suit me better.
I do not quite understand why: nobody will see it underneath the helmet, and Kain already has long hair.
ii.
I had the usual sparring practice with Kain today... he went for the helmet a bit more than is his wont.
I really should ask him about these new tactics.
iii.
I am deeply honoured that the Light chose to confer the status of Paladin upon me.
The secret to being a paladin is apparently good shampoo. Of the damage-protecting variety, I understand.
...I fail to see what difference it will make, but I have been exhorted to use it, so I shall try.
iv.
They kidnapped Rosa!
v.
Found her in the Tower of Zot. I cannot understand why that fiend woman - Barbariccia - is giving me jealous looks. Is there something I am unaware of?
vi.
Kain keeps asking me about haircare products and offering to trade nail polish secrets in exchange.
I am not interested in nail polish.
Lipstick, however...

Purple? Truly?
Rosa also suggested I braid beads into my hair. Perhaps when I have more time...
...why is Kain so amused?

Met uncle.
Light willing, my hair will not be like that in fifty years’ time.

Golbez is my brother?
...I have a brother?
Kain says he wouldn’t have been able to tell by the hair.
That really is quite unfair to my brother, I feel.

Rosa says my... brother - tried to get her to tell him my hair secrets.
What hair secrets?

Kain is currently expounding on his theory regarding the crystals. He says it’s my hair that’s important.
...what does my hair have to do with all of this?

Both Rosa and Kain gave me despairing looks.
Rosa says never mind, just try the beads.
Kain gave her an odd look.

...is my hair supposed to look like that?

Rosa and Kain both say yes. I am uncertain. Will try.

Kain says people are amused by the beads; noticed that short spiky hair was the norm - perhaps this is why? Perhaps I should try that next. Firion and Tidus are in full support of this endeavour, and have offered to persuade Cloud to lend me his hair gel.
